What are InSite SiteWork and Field General Release 11 System Requirements?
Processor: Pentium IV compatible processor is the minimum system required. Processor speed is not the only benchmark for machine speed. Modern PCs with faster video cards and higher system bus speeds will yield the best performance.
Operating System: Windows 7 or Vista offer significant graphic advantages over Windows XP. Windows 7 or Windows Vista are required for image take-off in InSite SiteWork.
System RAM Requirements: 4 GB RAM or more recommended. Importing large CAD files requires more RAM
Video Adapter for Image take-off: 256 MB dedicated RAM required - 512 MB recommended. 1024 MB recommended for dual monitor support.
To check the video adapter RAM, right mouse click on the desktop, choose Screen Resolution, then select Advanced Settings, and choose the Adapter tab. The dedicated video RAM spec is listed here.
Ports: One USB Port for the InSite SiteWork security Key and a USB or serial port for the digitizing tablet (if used).
Digitizer: Digitizer technology has largely been replaced by image (PDF, TIF) and CAD take-off. For occasional paper take-off, having the plan scanned is the least expensive solution. If paper take-off represents a significant portion of your take-off needs, most GTCO, Summagraphic or Calcomp digitizer boards are supported. Call for information on specific models.
Sound Card and Speakers required: InSite SiteWork plays .WAV files when pressing buttons. These sounds are very helpful feedback to digitizing, and decrease take-off time.
