GTCO/Calcomp Drivers
New GTCO Calcomp Tabletworks Driver Version 10 released! This
driver has been tested with InSite SiteWork and works well. If you have a
digitizer driver installed and it is working, there is no need to install a new
driver. If you are experiencing difficulties, this driver is recommended.
No serial port? if you own an older GTCO, Summagraphics, or Calcomp
digitizer that connects to a serial port, and your computer doesn't have one,
you will need a USB to serial conversion cable. Some work and some don't.
These are ones we have had success with.

Successful installation and configuration of the USB to Serial adapter is
required before installation of the Tabletworks drivers.
Windows 64 bit Vista and Tabletworks
Newer PCs running Vista 64 bit may require disabling the
Tablet PC input service until a new version of Tabletworks (>10.07) is released
by GTCO. This is not required on 32 bit version. The symptom is erratic mouse
movements on the Windows desktop when moving the cursor before InSite is loaded
(or even installed). Digitizing in InSite is not effected, but mouse movements
and menuing are also erratic.
To check your version of Windows Vista, choose Start /
Control Panel / Classic View / System. If System Type: reads
64-bit Operating System, this bulletin applies to you.
If you are running a Tablet PC, there is no solution as of
this date. But non-tablet PCs (most machines) the Tablet PC Input service must
be disabled.
Choose Start / Control Panel / Classic View /
Administrative Tools. Open Services and Applications. Choose Services.
Your screen should look similar to the image below.

Double Click the Tablet PC Input Service.

Under Service status:, choose Stop.
Change the Startup Type to Disabled.
This will prevent problems with the TabletWorks mouse.
After turning off Tablet PC, use the Tabletworks control
panel to refresh the list. Click OK and the 16 button cursor should work
normally.
