Plan Views Printed to Scale

If there is one thing estimators have in common, it is that they get into disputes over quantity. Luckily, you have a tool that makes proving your numbers relatively easy. It is also important to have a color printer.

Start  by clicking the Print Screen Graphic Icon from the Toolbar.

Your screen should look like This:

Along the right side of the screen, you will see the tool bar menu. Select User from the Map Scale menu. The original map scale will be shown. Select O.K. The upper left portion of your job will be shown (figure 2).

Click on Next Page repeatedly to view a series of pages that assembled would represent the whole site. This gives you plotter quality output on a small inexpensive Inkjet Printer. Of course if you own a full size Plotter, you can print these on one large sheet.

Before we print, let’s look at a couple of printing options. Click on Select Layers from the Tool Box menu.

This option is used to select which layers to view. By default, the Features Displayed in the View Menu on the main InSite SiteWork Screen will be displayed. If you wish to remove a feature from view, use your mouse to click on the feature. The blue highlight will be removed.

Selecting OK will redraw the plan with only the features selected.
Select Cut & Fill Volume Grid and InSite will overprint the Cut & Fill volumes at 50 foot grid intervals.

Selecting the Cut & Fill Depth Grid will print stake-out elevations across the plan. You can also simultaneously print any of the elevations of Existing, Proposed, Stripping, Subgrade, Water Table or Strata depths. Figure 3a shows both a combination of Cut & Fill Depth and Subgrade elevation.

Note: Graphic is low resolution for instruction purposes only. Actual printed results are awesome.
